A Bet on Nuclear
/ 1 min read
I believe the real test of whether you’re pro-progress is whether you’re pro-nuclear.
I’m betting on small modular nuclear reactors.
AI needs power. The grid isn’t ready. Solar and wind can’t deliver the density or uptime data centers demand. Nuclear can — and there are incredible advancements in material science, manufacturing, and computational modeling that make the next gen reactors compelling.
SMRs change the equation: factory-built, deployable on-site, 50-300MW at a time. Molten Salt Reactors (MSR) powered by Thorium are an even more interesting approach I have followed based on my materials engineering background.
One company I’m following is Aalo Atomics — founded by someone from Toronto I’ve interacted with. They’re targeting a 50MW reactor operational by mid-2026. I hope to write about this in more detail in the future. For now, I’m just making the bet.
